NJIN

Wide Area Multimedia Project

Overview

The NJIN WAM project is an initiative to provide NJIN member institutions with the opportunity to participate in public and private, world-wide, interactive video conferencing. The Emerging Needs component of the New Jersey Equipment Leasing Fund has allowed 39 NJIN institutions to procure state-of-the-art UNIX workstations and high-speed routers for transmitting video and other forms of multimedia over the Internet using the Multicast BackBONE (MBONE).
