Distance Learning Academic Advisory Board(DLAAB)

The Distance Learning Academic Advisory Board, originally formed in 1997, was reconvened in the Fall of 1998.

The newly constituted DLAAB is intended to play an important role in bringing together the collective expertise of our members to stimulate and coordinate distance learning initiatives. DLAAB activities are intended to complement Governor Whitman's efforts to create the New Jersey Virtual University.

Ellen Spaldo, Director of Educational Technology at Fairleigh Dickinson University, chairs the DLAAB. The President of each NJIN institution has been invited to designate a new representative to the DLAAB, or to renew the appointment of the current delegate. In June, the NJIN Board of Trustees approved a set of proposed initiatives, which are based, in part, upon the work done earlier by the DLAAB and address the academic and administrative issues involved in interactive distance learning. The new DLAAB will conduct all meetings via ITV.
